Fr. Federico Palma

Fr. Federico Palma

Rev. Federico Palma is a Roman Catholic priest originally from Argentina who studied at Most Holy Trinity Seminary and was ordained in 2006. He is a member of the Roman Catholic Institute, a traditionalist Catholic organization under the leadership of Bishop Donald Sanborn. Palma currently serves as the pastor of the Roman Catholic Institute's chapels in Australia, based in Melbourne. He is also involved in the Institute's media arm, Roman Catholic Media, where he has delivered sermons, including one on Septuagesima Sunday in 2024. Palma is known for his strong opposition to the reforms of the Second Vatican Council, particularly the Novus Ordo Mass, and has expressed the view that Leo XIV, a figure associated with traditionalist movements, is a "pope-elect" but not a true pope unless he condemns these reforms. He has also been critical of the portrayal of the Catholic Church in popular culture, such as in the "Luce" cartoon, which he sees as a symbol of what he believes are the distortions of the Church's structures by post-Vatican II changes.
